About the role
As a People & Culture Senior Advisor, you will work closely with leaders across Cherry Point to deliver practical, people-focused solutions aligned with business priorities and bp values. You will advise, coach, and influence leaders on employee lifecycle decisions, proactively manage employee relations matters, and help maintain a positive and engaged workforce.
Working as part of bp’s integrated People & Culture team—alongside P&C Services and Centers of Excellence—you will help translate bp’s people strategy into meaningful outcomes at the site level.
Key Accountabilities:
Leader & Business Partnership
- Partner with leaders across Cherry Point Refinery to deliver People & Culture initiatives aligned with site and business priorities
- Provide day-to-day coaching and advice on people management, performance, and organizational decisions
- Support leaders through workforce changes with sound judgement, empathy, and consistency
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Lead and manage employee relations cases, ensuring fair, timely, and compliant outcomes
- Proactively identify engagement or employee relations risks and support early intervention
- Maintain strong awareness of employee sentiment across supported groups
Talent & Capability
- Partner with Talent and Centers of Excellence to support talent planning, development, and succession
- Encourage inclusive leadership practices and help build strong, capable teams
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with P&C Services and Co Es to deliver seamless, high-quality People & Culture support
- Identify opportunities to improve ways of working and share best practices
Essential Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Essential experience & requirements
- Experience in Human Resources / People & Culture
- Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and organizational change
- Strong coaching and influencing skills
- Knowledge of local labor laws and employment regulations
- Experience working in a matrixed or complex operational environment
Desirable
- Experience supporting hourly or frontline workforces in an operational or industrial environment
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent)
- On-site HR experience in a refinery or manufacturing environment.
