- The Country Security Manager
- Indonesia delivers timely security risk management and specialist advice to bp businesses in Indonesia, ensuring compliance with bp standards. Reporting to the Regional Security Manager (RSM), this first-level leadership role coordinates high-quality security processes to accurately identify, evaluate, and mitigate threats to personnel, assets, and operations. The Security Manager Indonesia is part of the Regional Security Leadership Team and may lead projects with regional or global scope. When guided by the RSM, this position serves as the primary security contact for business leadership in-country.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead on security issues across the relevant businesses in the country. Provide accurate strategic direction and reporting of security issues which occur across the Indonesia which may be of importance or relevance to bp operations.

Coordinate with teams delivering projects in the relevant businesses and ensure the appropriate bp security input and oversight.

Consolidate, prepare and submit detailed Country Security risk registers and risk management plans ensuring that Risk Notification and Plan Endorsement (RNPE) forms for emerging security risks are accurately taken care of covering narratives, trends, major incidents, and Risk Action Plans (RAP).

Conduct security reviews of assets across the country to ensure the delivery of security measures in accordance with approved security risk management plans and RAPs.

Provide timely assessment/update to the Head of Country and Indonesia Business Leadership Team (BLT) on political events and security risks and their impact on the security environment.

Provide leadership and management of the security team in Indonesia and Business Security Representatives (BSR) at each bp business in Indonesia. Provide detailed technical security advice to align the required barrier strength is maintained and risk is mitigated in alignment with risk appetite.

In coordination with the RSM facilitate information exchange with the Business Security Managers (BSMs) and BSRs in relation to security threats in each business. In particular, facilitate coordination with the ISC Regional Intelligence Manager, Intelligence Analysts, security team members and other sources of information in order to develop a detailed understanding of the threat picture which applies to bp’s businesses.

Deliver timely day to day self-verification across the businesses in the country.

Act as the security representative on the IMT or BST in the event of activation.

Ensure alignment with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.

Ensure that all activities of the Security function are in compliance with the relevant Company E&C policies and procedures.

Coordinate and ensure compliance with PSCM standards on security services contracts.

Acts as point of contact for Project Contractors’ organizations in addressing various security issues, ensuring alignment with bp Security guides, procedures and contractual requirements and with high level performance and timely delivery of services.

Establish, maintain and coordinate close relationships with Public security forces and relevant government partners. Establish proactive communications and information exchange.

Lead and develop a country-level security team.

Travel within Indonesia to support operational sites as required.
Educational Background:
-
Postgraduate University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in an analytical subject.

The role holder must be able to speak and write English to a native standard with an emphasis on persuasive writing.
Experience and Job Requirements:
-
Validated experience in a security role with responsibility for prioritizing multiple sites across a national level business.
-
Must have extensive expertise in security risk management and conducting security risk assessments.
-
Must be experienced and comfortable participating in site and national level leadership team meetings.
-
Able to discuss in detail security risk assessment and the use of risk management software.
-
Have a strong and shown knowledge of security strategy and developing physical security practices and technical security measures to include CCTV, access control and management/monitoring systems.
-
Have extensive experience in developing policies, protocols, and exercising training to ensure compliance and preparedness.
-
Have experience coordinating with local and national enforcement agencies; experience with international agencies preferred.

Have experience of coordinating with senior level site managers and successfully influencing security discussions.

Have experience with developing of budgets, cases to support expenditure, & capital project management.

Have experience in corporate security leadership.

Have background in complex or high-risk environments.
Desirable Criteria:
-
Membership of an appropriate professional security body (e.g., The Security Institute or ASIS).

Experience conducting detailed and timely investigations, preferably into fraud or misconduct issues.
-
Oil & Gas experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
-
Military or law enforcement background is beneficial but not essential.
