Job Description:

This is a role within the Castrol organization, and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.

About the role:

To provide comprehensive P&C support for Castrol South Africa business - in a standalone entity- ensuring alignment with local legislative requirements, including Employment Equity compliance, labor relations, and operational HR tasks. The role holder is expected to work in the entity separation (LESS) and lead standing up the employing entity including the employment contract transfers in coordination with legal.

What you will deliver:

Strategic HR

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Castrol SA leadership team on all people-related matters.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable people plans that enable growth and cultural transformation.
  • Influence and challenge leadership to ensure people strategies drive business success.

Talent Management

  • Lead strategic workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Build strong talent pipelines for critical roles and future leadership positions.
  • Drive diversity and inclusion in talent acquisition and development.

Capability & Learning Development

  • Support implementation of integrated talent management plans to ensure the right people are where they are needed.
  • Support LMs in assessing talent and identifying critical roles
  • Deliver talent review cycle and facilitate robust and effective talent calibration, succession planning and action planning
  • Support and coach line managers in having effective talent and career conversations with their teams

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Champion initiatives that foster an inclusive, family-oriented culture.
  • Manage engagement surveys and action plans to improve employee experience.

Employee Relations

  • Provide strategic guidance on complex employee relations issues.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of policies and labour legislation.
  • Partner with Employee Relations to resolve cases within SLA and maintain a positive work environment.

Performance & Reward

  • Oversee performance management processes and ensure alignment with global frameworks.
  • Provide strategic guidance on compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.

BBBEE Compliance & Transformation

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve BBBEE scorecard targets across relevant pillars.
  • Partner with procurement and leadership to drive supplier diversity and skills development initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance and prepare reports for internal and external audits.

Change Management

  • Lead cultural change initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
  • Manage communication and implementation changes and assess impact on employees to manage proactively.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to labour laws, BBBEE legislation, company policies, and ethical standards

What you will need to be successful:

Education:

Postgraduate Qualification in one of the following:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Industrial Psychology
  • Labour Relations

Experience

Significant progressive HR experience, including a substantial time spent within a strategic managerial role partnering with senior leadership.
