Job Description:
The Category enablement lead is responsible for supporting bp's global push to standardize and optimize procurement operations. This role involves implementing buying channels that enhance procurement efficiency, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and align with business requirements. You will develop and complete strategies for implementing category management, channel optimization, and content management to enhance user buying experience and use of self-service or automated tools!
Key accountabilities
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing optimised buying channels, develop and maintain category specific content for SAP Ariba buying channels, following bp's procurement policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. You will work cross-functionally within the Procurement organizations to enhance user's buying experience and procurement efficiency.

Develop buying channel strategy including catalogues, custom forms, invoice against contract that enable Auto-PO transactions to support procurement's efficiency target.

Facilitate content management guidelines to support procurement operations and collaborate with suppliers to ensure current and comprehensive product and service information.

Implement optimised buying channel to ensure price compliance and mitigate any risks associated with procurement channels by developing suitable controls to monitor contract compliance.

Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, IT teams and external stakeholders including SAP technical support and supplier technical team to drive successful implementation of buying channel strategies.

Responsible for driving improved buying channel implementation efficiency metrics and user experience quality metrics.

Provide training and support to users of SAP Ariba buying channels to ensure effective utilization of buying channels.

Establish self as the Category subject matter expert on Ariba buying channel use cases and work closely with Buying Channel team on implementing procedures, and make recommendations to our Procurement teams where necessary.

Business Requirements Analysis- Use understanding of stakeholder strategy and category knowledge to develop a viable, long term view of business requirements.

Product & Market Intelligence- Uses deep knowledge of supply markets to create strong sourcing solutions. Uses supply market insights to determine future sourcing strategies for the business. Networks internally and externally and stay up to date via industry publications, conferences, and events.

Mentors and coach’s category managers / specialists / analysts / lead in the use of analytical tools. Leads governance discussions with executive sponsors regarding progress and business results.

Relationship Management- Takes full ownership of engagement issues with stakeholders, monitors relationships and acts on relevant feedback.

Category Spend Profiling- Develops insights on spend profiles that result in elimination of non-value add spend within the category. Identifies key external and environmental drivers and uses this to recommend sourcing initiatives.

Contract Management- Manage contracts to optimally control spend, reduce risk, avoid supplier driven scope creep. Manages BP’s and supplier’s compliance to the contract and proactively resolves issues before they become major problems.

Supplier Relationship Management- Works collaboratively with suppliers. Links value proposition to strategic objectives.

Value Creation & Management- Develops opportunities that provide mutual value and drive competitive advantage. Challenges suppliers to generate value-based solutions that deliver improved business results.

Cost Modelling- Proposes internal and external solutions to reduce costs over the life of the purchase and implements solutions as agreed.

Influencing- Proactively handles a wide range of stakeholders to overcome resistance and achieve a successful result from projects. Varies communication to address specific partner needs and to gain commitment and support.

Innovation- Experiments with new insights. Brings together the creative ideas into a detailed approach or solution, seeking better solutions for new requirements.

Analytical Thinking- Applies analytical techniques to solve complex problems. Identifies, evaluates, and makes clear recommendations based on analysis.

People Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team within a cross-functional project environment, with a strong attention to detail and timelines.
