Job Purpose:

The Sr. Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to the Bosch Group India, specifically focusing on overall mobility business of Bosch in the India region, M&A, Capital Markets, Anti-Trust Laws as well as corporate advisory. To be able to handle key and complex disputes, real estate for the organization, manage special projects. This role also aims to mitigate legal risks, ensure compliance, and support business continuity through effective contract management and legal advisory.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge: Proficient in Company Law, Capital Markets, Antitrust laws, Anti Money Laundering.
  • Good understanding on Contracts, its applicability in all sectors and businesses including automotive, energy, consumer, IT &ITeS.
  • Having substantial experience to have dealt with M&A transactions, Capital Markets, Antitrust laws & Anti Money Laundering topics.
  • Proficient in Employment laws and General Corporate Advisory.
  • Real estate and dispute resolution.
  • Updated and on track with the evolving legal landscape, digital & AI, data privacy & security, export control amongst other developments

Responsibility:

  • Strategic Advisory and Corporate Advisory: Contribute successfully in the areas of M&A, Structuring and Restructuring of entities, Capital Markets, Litigation, real estate and Transactional works to achieve the strategic roadmap/goals of the business.
  • Legal and Regulatory Governance: Develop, define and administer that the Organization (Bosch India) is in compliance with all applicable laws. Check and report to the General Counsel and stakeholders on any Legal and regulatory topics, its implication on Business and plan in the event of any legal risks are arising.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Supervise teams to ensure that regulatory requirements are in accordance with Company's Act and other applicable laws.
  • Business Enablement: Administer that the team supports and contributes for Business growth in closing on transactional activities; providing right and effective legal advice to the company in its day-to-day activities.
  • Budget Planning and Control: To be able to keep a control on the budget. Discuss with General Counsel on optimizing budgets.
  • Stakeholder Management: To be able to manage internal stakeholders such as Business associates and external stakeholders such as Customers, suppliers, vendors, regulatory bodies and Government bodies.
  • People Management: Motivate and Support teams in creating a high-performance culture.

  • Ability to anticipate and identify potential legal issues/ risks and proactively provide practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in managing teams, proficient to cohesively work with cross functional team of experts in India and HQ

  • Effective and timely closure of deals and transactions, directly contributing to business continuity.
  • Achieve positive feedback from stakeholders, reflecting timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure timely updates and conduct trainings on changes in the legal framework relevant to the business.

Network:

  • Internal: Collaborate with Corporate Functions within Bosch India, across Bosch group and provide any legal support to region India.
  • External: Liaise, negotiate, and represent Bosch as required before the Government, statutory & regulatory, vendors, suppliers and external lawyers.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Law Degree from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 college in India.

  • Postgraduate in a specialized field of law (LLM) is advantageous.

  • Experience: Minimum of 15-18 years of experience.

  • Prior experience in reputed law firms and/or as in-house counsel is global multi-national company is highly preferred.

  • Should have led a team of lawyers for a minimum period of 5 years

Experience gained from a reputable commercial law firm and then made transition to the in-house legal team of a recognized entity particularly in sectors such as mobility, technology, digital, automotive, FMCG or other manufacturing.
