
Shipping Clerk - 2nd/3rd Shift
About the role
Summary:
To ensure the finished goods are loaded onto the transportation vehicles at the allocated times, quantities and properly documented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identify shortages and reconcile inventory problems. Monitor stock on a regular basis.
- Scanning product into Customer's order to process paperwork.
- Transmit ASN’s (Advanced Shipping Notices) to customers upon departure of carrier.
- Access various customer Internet systems to verify customer receipt of advanced shipment notices.
- Maintain incoming dunnage in various customer websites.
- Wrap and band finished goods to customer specifications.
- Manage carriers and loads as necessary to meet customer window times.
- Ensure that first-in-first-out batch rotation is maintained.
- Pull, pack and label product for service requirements to Ford, General Motors and Chrysler.
- Manage package shipments such as UPS, Emery, & Fed Ex.
- Update and maintain manual dispatch/SAP log.
- Maintain good housekeeping practice.
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations are being adhered to.
- Ensure the safety clothing and safety shoes are worn at all times.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1-5 years experience in manufacturing and/or assembly operations

- Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.
Computer Skills:
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, Test Software).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Forklift - experience not required, but must be willing to learn as this will encompass roughly 50% of the job
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment. The positions requires the ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours at a time, repetitively bend, twist, grasp and lift up to 45 pounds. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
