
Logistics Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Logistics Engineer to support and continuously improve material flow across our manufacturing facility, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping operations. This role plays a key part in driving Lean production principles, Continuous Improvement (CIP), and cross-functional collaboration.
Success in this role requires not only strong analytical and process-design skills, but also the ability to coach, influence, and lead teams through improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & Operations
- Design, analyze, and optimize material flow from receiving through production, warehousing, and shipping
- Improve inventory management, storage layouts, and internal logistics systems to support production efficiency
- Support capacity planning, line-side logistics, and space utilization initiatives
- Collaborate with production, planning, quality, and purchasing to ensure smooth operations and maintain PFEP files.
- Develop and maintain physical logistics PFMEA’s
Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support CIP initiatives using Lean principles (e.g. value stream mapping, standard work, 5S, Kanban, pull systems)
- Identify waste, bottlenecks, and variability within logistics and production support processes
- Develop, implement, and sustain standardized processes and visual management tools
- Track and report KPIs related to logistics performance and improvement activities
People & Project Leadership
- Coach and guide operators, team leads, and supervisors through improvement projects
- Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and problem-solving sessions
- Act as a change agent, helping teams adopt new ways of working
- Lead cross-functional project teams from concept through implementation
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain and 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with integrated warehousing and shipping operations
- Strong knowledge of Lean production systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven experience leading or supporting improvement projects
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and engaging directly with teams
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and facilitation abilities
- Ability to influence without authority and build trust across teams
- Structured, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset
- Experience with SAP/WMS systems and data analysis tools is a plus
