Job Description:
**Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS)**is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior - Second Shift
to support the Manufacturing team in El Segundo, CA!
Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. This role requires to work the second shift.
This position’s internal job code is Electro-Mechanical Technician. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24.
Position Responsibilities:
-
Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
-
Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
-
Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
-
Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
-
Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
-
Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
-
Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
-
Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
-
High school diploma or GED
-
3-5 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
-
Industry and/or Trade School training
-
Working knowledge ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standards
-
Experience with a variety of assembly techniques and tools (e.g. epoxy, thread-locker, torque wrench, soldering iron, microscope, etc.)
-
3-5 years of soldering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-
5 yrs experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
-
IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
-
Experience working in at least a 100,000 Class cleanroom environment
-
Ability to Obtain Clearance
-
Ability to travel

The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.

New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.
