Boeing Global Services, Consumables & Expendables (C&E) Distribution Business is looking for an Experienced Quality Inspector (m/f/d) for the Norderstedt, Germany facility.
Position Summary:
Join our team as an Experienced Quality Inspector, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest design standards. In this position, you'll provide clear evidence of product quality through thorough auditing, monitoring, and surveillance. You'll be responsible for identifying and documenting any discrepancies, managing non-conforming items, and collaborating with customers during product and process verifications. Your insights will help us improve our processes by identifying significant non-conformances and initiating corrective actions.
In this exciting role, you'll work with minimal supervision to inspect incoming materials and outgoing orders, ensuring all certifications are accurate. You'll utilize precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges, while also providing mentorship to our Inspection team.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed dimensional inspections based on design records and established AQL levels, along with visual inspections for any obvious defects.
Review and manage all certification documentation to ensure compliance with AS9100 and our company’s quality standards, maintaining effective communication with vendors as necessary.
Obtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers (or as applicable by Site size), with active usage required.
Review and approve First Articles from suppliers and perform First Articles for customer submissions.
Identify and share opportunities to enhance inspector productivity and support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities related to Inspection. Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Assist with QN investigation of non-conformances (dimensional or paperwork), part purges & RMA processes & the calibration of measurement tools.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
6+ years of relevant work experience.
A completed technical apprenticeship as a mechanic, technician or similar.
Previous experience in a technical role within the aerospace industry.
Familiarity with QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article Inspection.
Proficient in English and German (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
Ability to pass a documented color and near vision exam.
Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
Experience using calipers, ring/pin gauges, comparators, and Smart scope.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel).
Solid skills working with common ERP systems, specifically SAP
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Education: associate degree – related field of study
Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
A basic understanding of Six Sigma and team concepts.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
