We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Engineering Group Leader, to lead our Online Experience capability within the Digital Channels Platform. This role is in New York, NY or Jersey City, NJ. The Online Experience groups seek to establish a single location for clients to seamlessly interact with BNY while enabling innovation within platforms. We will identify and create shared cross-platform experiences for common client journeys and enrich interactions using AI and other innovative tooling.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways

- Lead and manage global development teams, ensuring appropriate design, technical capabilities, and resource allocation to meet strategic objectives.
- Champion change management initiatives, encouraging innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement in technology solutions.
- Drive quality and adherence to best practice in the end-to-end design and implementation of systems and processes.
- Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders, as well as clients, to develop solutions that drive revenue, client satisfaction, and efficiency.
- Develop and execute group-wide business plans and participate in firm-wide initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts, handling escalations effectively.
- Drive recruitment, development, and retention of diverse talent, fostering an inclusive culture that supports professional growth and wellbeing.
- Manage operating budgets, forecast resource needs, and ensure financial discipline within the approved plans.
- Motivate and mentor team members to maximize their contributions and support their career development.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
- 10-12 years of experience in systems analysis, program development, and technology leadership.
- Minimum of 3-5 years managing development project teams, preferably in complex, global environments.
- Demonstrated capability working with the training and deployment of AI agents
- Ability to operate in and influence a federated ecosystem of design, product and engineering teams
- Strong front end and UI development experience using Angular
- Experience architecting large scale portal experiences including data architecture, API design and entitlement management
- Proven ability to lead large-scale technology projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to agile and inclusive engineering culture.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in financial services or related industries is a plus.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
