We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Java Full Stack Engineer to join our GSS Enablement team. This role is located in Pune

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Design and development of backend features and components.
• Provide application software development services or technical support in more complex situations.
• Design and code programs, create test transactions and write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.
• Utilize standard procedures and techniques to write new complex programs
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles.
• Participate in deployment process following all change controls. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team commits to. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
• Comply with BNY’s standard development methodology

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development with hands on experience in Backend - core Java, Spring Boot, REST API development, Microservices and Frontend technologies– Angular, HTML, CSS, Javascript with responsive UI development and building distributed systems. Strong technical credentials and deep hands-on technical expertise building complex, highly scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to the customers.
• Design code that can be changed/refactored easily. This includes not only a design that allows it but the unit tests to prove nothing will break
• Passion for problem solving and designing for scale.
• Strong experience in messaging (IBM MQ preferred).
• Experience required in SQL, Stored Procedures and transaction management.
• Experience following best practices of design, development, testing and release management.
• Experience working with APIs to create, test and manage APIs for inter-process communication.
• Oracle, SQL Server or any other relational database experience necessary. NoSQL knowledge preferred.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar LLM-based assistants) to accelerate daily development tasks such as code generation, debugging, code review, and documentation
• Experience with SDLC and CI/CD pipeline best practices.
• Experience with Angular and developing UI screens preferred.
• Experience with scripting using Linux preferred.
• Good understanding of monitoring tools such as App Dynamics, Splunk, Moogsoft.
• Enthusiastically adopt AI-first software development practices
• Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a big plus.
