We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President Data Governance to join our Fund & Investor Solutions team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead oversight of Data Quality (DQ) exception management, establishing intake, triage, SLAs and escalation, tracking metrics and dashboards, and driving cross-functional remediation aligned to enterprise governance and risk standards.

  • Engineer and automate data governance capabilities, including DQ rules in Collibra, metadata collection/curation pipelines, and end-to-end technical lineage capture and integration using Manta (or equivalent).

  • Integrate governance processes into enterprise data delivery and platforms; define and enforce engineering standards and reusable design patterns for metadata, lineage, and DQ automation.

  • Serve as first-line Privacy Steward: implement and monitor privacy controls, review and manage PIPI records and privacy notices, assess and escalate incidents, and ensure proper classification/handling of personal/sensitive data per BNY policy.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Finance.

  • Proven experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (or similar) for metadata and governance automation; hands-on experience with Manta (or equivalent) for technical lineage.

  • Strong engineering background building automated workflows, APIs, and integrations; proficiency in SQL and Python or Java; experience with modern data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and metadata-driven frameworks.

  • Familiarity with data quality management concepts and ability to translate them into automated technical solutions; understanding of privacy stewardship responsibilities and ability to operationalize privacy controls per BNY policy; strong problem-solving skills to deliver scalable governance solutions.

  • Preferred: Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, GCP); exposure to enterprise data cataloging and lineage best practices; knowledge of regulatory data governance requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, CCPA); experience working with privacy inventories (e.g., PIPI) and privacy notices in partnership with the Global Privacy Office.
