We’re seeking a future team member for the role of **Vice President, Corporate Actions.**This role is located in Jersey City, NJ (4 days in office required).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Responsible for managing and overseeing corporate action-related processes, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of various events.
- Collaborate with teams and clients to address complex issues and provide expert guidance.
- Contribute to the development of documentation and market practices, while also researching and resolving inquiries.
- Lead and manage a team of corporate actions specialists, ensuring effective collaboration and efficient workflow.
- Oversee the accurate and timely execution of corporate action events, including dividend payments, reorganizations, and bond redemptions.
- Conduct thorough cash reconciliations and review security transactions, adhering to strict quality control measures.
- Serve as a Corporate Actions expert, providing guidance, training, and support to less experienced team members.
- Meet with organizational units and stakeholders to ensure proper handling of corporate action events and maintain open communication.
- Research and respond to inquiries from internal and external parties, offering timely and accurate resolutions.
- Participate in the development and improvement of corporate action-related documentation and market practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market practices to enhance corporate action processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business groups, depositories, and clients to ensure client satisfaction.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Corporate Actions department by achieving team objectives and driving continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, with an advanced degree preferred, such as an MBA or a relevant professional certification.
- 7-10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in corporate actions or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate action procedures, events, and market practices, with a proven track record of successful execution.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in using corporate action processing systems and tools, with a willingness to stay updated on industry technology.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a strategic mindset to drive process improvements.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- A deep understanding of the global financial system and its impact on corporate actions, with a focus on risk management.
- Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business, ensuring compliance with regulations.
