We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director of Engineering – Enterprise Risk UI Platforms to join our Enterprise Risk team. This role is located in NYC, NY or NJ.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Role Summary:

  • Lead UI/UX engineering strategy for Enterprise Risk platforms, driving consistency, usability, scalability, and resilience across the portfolio.
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering teams delivering modern front-end solutions for critical enterprise workflows.
  • Define and advance front-end architecture, engineering standards, reusable component libraries, and design system adoption.
  • Partner with product, UX/design, architecture, data, and business stakeholders to deliver user-centered platform capabilities.
  • Drive modernization of legacy user interfaces through migration to modern, API-driven, component-based architectures.
  • Ensure platforms meet high standards for security, accessibility, performance, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish strong engineering discipline across the SDLC, testing, observability, release management, and operational support.
  • Shape the broader Enterprise Risk technology roadmap by aligning UI platform investments to business priorities and user needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience leading engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale digital products, applications, or platforms.
  • 12+ years of experience in systems quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required, experience in the securities or
  • Deep expertise in modern front-end technologies including React, TypeScript, Angular, and adjacent UI ecosystems.
  • Strong experience in front-end architecture, API integration, micro-frontend or modular UI patterns, and component-driven development.
  • Proven success building and scaling design systems, reusable frameworks, and shared UI platform capabilities.
  • Experience delivering user-centric solutions in complex domains such as risk, controls, compliance, finance, or other regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure software delivery, platform reliability, and engineering practices for business-critical applications.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, UX, and business teams.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms and improving engineering quality through standards, governance, and best practices.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
