We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Capacity Management Application Developer to join our Production Services team. This role is in New York City.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the VCM solution and to ensure successful introduction across the organization & with IT & business stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Java, front-end UI Technologies, Angular, Spring Framework, HTML, XML, JSON, Web Services, RESTful API, GitLab CI/CD, MQ/Kafka, SQL and Relational DB skills
  • Participate in capacity planning discussion and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of proposed solutions 
  • Utilize the VCM tool to ensure that customers have the solutions best suited to their capacity requirements/needs
  • Perform technical analysis and prepare recommendations as needed for capacity planning
  • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and outside vendors
  • Possess a broad knowledge of technical resources and use them to effectively coordinate with other team members and businesses
  • Possess strong analytical, programming & troubleshooting skills
  • Track record of developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated and be able to prioritize accordingly depending on demands from businesses and app/dev teams
  • Be comfortable talking to development, production and infrastructure teams and offering capacity planning opinions

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 4-6 years of experience in applications support or production environment required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SDLC, DevOps, Agile, & Lean

Preferred:

  • Business knowledge of Securities, Fund Accounting, Collateral, and Tri-Party Repo preferred but not a must
  • Knowledge in data warehousing, big data, data lakes preferred
  • Experience in Application Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud, Virtual, Network, ITIL, Service Management preferred

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $98,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
