We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, External Wholesaler – Remote (Mid West / Central) to join the BNY Investments team.

The Wholesaler, referred to as Investment Consultant, is responsible for supporting and selling our mutual fund, ETF and separate account wrap products over the phone, in person and thru virtual meetings to third-party distributors in their region. The position seeks an enthusiastic team player and self-starter who has proven they can effectively grow a sales territory, identify new investment opportunities, and articulate investment strategies and investment-related topics. The incumbent will actively maintain existing sales relationships and qualify prospects to evaluate potential sale and cross-sale opportunities. At this level, the incumbents demonstrate an experienced ability to independently prospect a segment of the territory, conduct client presentations, and represent the firm at conferences and events.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Initiate and maintain client service relationships and develop new relationship with financial advisors/FA Analysts through phone, virtual meetings in order to drive revenue in territory

  • Recruiting and maximizing new business prospects: Create and maintain a list of prospects and clients in given territory (where accountable for revenue generation); Demonstrate strong knowledge of our products and multi boutique strategy.

  • Partner with External and Internal Investment Consultants to develop and manage the territory business plan

  • Represent our firm at conferences and events.

  • “Own” a targeted segment of the territory.

  • Conduct in person client presentations (demonstrate a mastery of presentation skills)

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Wholesaling experience in the mutual fund or equivalent industry training and experience, hybrid experience preferred

  • Position requires FINRA Series 7, and 63 registrations in accordance with BNY Mellon's licensing policy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

    BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

    This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
