As a leading wealth manager, BNY Wealth Management is focused on helping successful individuals and their families build, manage and sustain their wealth across generations and market cycles. Through a unique service model focused on five Active Wealth practices — Investing, Borrowing, Spending, Managing Taxes, Protecting Legacies — they help clients in the U.S. and abroad achieve stronger after-tax performance to help maintain their wealth over generations.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Financial Advisor at Vice President level to join our Wealth Management team. The role is located in New York City (200 Park Avenue office).

The Financial Advisor assist clients with investable assets between $250,000 and $5,000,000 to reach their financial goals, strive to build long term relationships, and work clients over time as their needs change. Client consultations primarily are conducted via telephone. In-person and video calls are conducted when appropriate.

In this role as a Financial Advisor, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Serves in a consultative role to clients, advising on the best way to achieve short- and long- term strategic objectives
  • Promote appropriate services and product solutions to meet client needs
  • Uncover outside asset opportunities to increase firm wallet share
  • Prospect for new clients and referrals from existing clients through company supported initiatives

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Financial Advisory experience with a strong relationship management building skill set
  • In-depth knowledge of model portfolios, asset allocation, and other investment vehicles such as Managed Asset Programs, ETFs, mutual funds, and separately managed accounts
  • Deep industry and market knowledge with the ability to keep up with current trends
  • An aptitude for embracing new technology and comfortable operating in a digital environment
  • Proven ability to drive sales through telephone sales and digital interactions
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, verbal, and delivering presentations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

The successful candidate must have:

  • 3-5 years of financial industry experience preferred
  • Prior financial advisory experience required. Must have Series 7 and 63
  • Series 65 / Insurance License preferred or must be attained after hire

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $60,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
