We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President / Full Stack Engineer to join our TSG Automation and Tools team. This role is located in New York, New Jesey.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Build and operate automated capabilities that deliver best-in-class support for server provisioning, disaster recovery services, and related platform workflows.

• Own the software development lifecycle end to end: translate initiatives into clear requirements, document scope, lead design reviews, code, test, and promote changes through environments using Agile methodologies and governance processes.

• Design and implement backend infrastructure automation services following OOP principles; develop API-driven workflows, internal reporting, and integrations aligned with enterprise API standards.

• Design data schemas and query patterns for SQL and MongoDB; integrate with internal and external APIs; ensure observability and meaningful error handling across layers.

• Utilize DevOps best practices including Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, environment promotion, feature flags, and containerization for packaging and deployment.

• Apply security, compliance, and governance standards for APIs including naming, versioning, authentication/authorization, and participate in API governance and review processes.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 10-14 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. 9 - 12 years of experience preferred in storage engineering or software development.

• Strong experience with storage infrastructure concepts (NAS, SAN, object storage) and vendor ecosystems such as Net App, EMC, and Pure.

• Proficiency in Python development frameworks (Django, Flask), RESTful API design, OOP, and integration patterns.

• Frontend development skills with modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5/CSS3, accessibility standards (WCAG), and testing frameworks (Jest, Jasmine, Karma).

• Solid knowledge of SQL and MongoDB fundamentals.

• Experience with development tooling including Python IDEs (VS Code, Py Charm), Git, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, and Agile methodologies (JIRA, Confluence).

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, and AI development toolsets such as Windsurf.

• Self-starter with strong collaboration skills, able to work independently, research documentation, meet deadlines, and adapt during critical delivery periods.

  BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $195,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

  This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
