This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will work with other software development engineers and other discipline teams to develop the next generation platform for systems and software development teams across our Lunar programs. The platform will directly have an impact on the missions planned. Software is the heart of space vehicle development so your ability to collaborate with other discipline teams effectively will be an important aspect of this role. You will also have long term vision and strategy for the products to truly sustain lunar missions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Work with developers and program managers to architect and develop full-stack web applications.
-
Train, guide, and mentor team members on full-stack development best practices.
-
Set direction and goals for the team regarding the platform architecture and influence the feature roadmap.

Collect and analyze customer data to understand and troubleshoot application usage and performance.
-
Deeply understand the safety-critical software development process and find ways to create and apply tooling to make the process more effective and efficient.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
B.S. or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
-
8 years professional experience minimum.
-
Experience in developing and architecting full stack applications.
-
Experience improving application stability through monitoring, analysis, thoughtful code reviews, and detailed feedback.
-
Experience in database design (SQL, NoSQL, InfluxDB)
-
Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next, or similar)
-
Experiences constructing RESTful APIs (Python, NodeJS, or Go)
-
Experience with Data Engineering pipelines
-
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development
-
Experience with Linux, Docker, Continuous Integration and Delivery
-
Experience using configuration as code tools to manage cloud resource and physical workstations (e.g.: Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with ThreeJS, Rust

Experience with application performance monitoring and observability technologies (Datadog, ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)

Experience with Agile methodologies Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities

Experience with NPR 7150.2D

Experience with compiled languages, C/C
Compensation Range for:
CO applicants is $181,626.00 - $254,275.35
WA applicants is $197,529.00 - $276,539.55

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
