About this role

This role will be a key member of the Black Rock Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions – Custom Models Solutions team. The team works alongside Portfolio Managers and focuses on commercializing model portfolios for Financial Advisors and their clients.

The widespread adoption of Model Portfolios is one of the most significant evolutions in the Wealth Management industry over the last decade! As the industry drives towards greater simplicity, clarity, cost efficiency, and goals-based financial planning, the Custom Models Solution Business (CMS) is uniquely positioned to support advisors and accelerate the adoption of model portfolios. Through CMS, advisors can tap into Black Rock’s industry leading model portfolio investment framework to build a differentiated suite of custom model portfolios tailored to the needs of their business.

This role is an opportunity to join a high growth, multi-billion-dollar business and a dynamic team in a fast-evolving market. It will require a strong combination of leadership, investment, and client interpersonal skills.

As a CMS Client PM, you will be encouraged to:

Support clients and sales

  • In close partnership with USWA Market Teams, deliver the CMS value proposition to clients – position resources, capabilities, and services to increase demand.

  • Support existing client relationships and participate in driving new client engagements by delivering Black Rock’s best thinking on an ongoing basis via conference call updates and in-person meetings as needed.

  • Integrate CMS clients with the Black Rock technology stack to deliver client reporting and marketing support.

  • Build strong relationships with sales, distribution partners and advisory clients to deliver commercial results aligned with business objectives.

Construct model portfolios:

  • Design custom model portfolios for specific wealth management clients that marry the client’s customization requests with Black Rock’s investment view, as defined by the Model Portfolio Solutions team.

  • Build custom portfolios using our standard model product menu as the chasse.

  • Define and maintain portfolio substitution and optimization rules using Blackrock’s portfolio construction tools.

  • Work closely with model portfolio managements teams, bringing to bear their systematic investment and market insights

Manage projects to drive growth and scale the business:

  • Support critical initiatives to scale the CMS business and its integration across MASS and other parts of the firm, including but not limited to client-facing market leaders, Models Infrastructure, MASS Core PM, and Aladdin Wealth Tech.

  • Think creatively about ways to improve the CMS operating model and deliver on automation and scale-oriented projects to support the business’s growth objectives and risk mitigation.

  • Support all aspects of the day-to-day operating procedures in partnership with Core PM and Models Infrastructure to support business needs.

  • Represent the investment strategy team in projects with partners in sales, marketing, communications, product strategy and other teams

Qualifications/Skills

  • BA/BS required. Advanced Degree / CFA / CAIA / CFP, or progress towards, is strongly preferred

  • A minimum of 2-4 years investment or asset management experience

  • Prefer relevant client facing and/or portfolio construction experience

  • Combination of investment, analytical, technical and client skills

  • Student of the market with fluid understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction and analysis

  • Entrepreneurial with a sense of ownership and business building spirit

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process

  • Collegial attitude and eagerness to partner with numerous teams across MASS and the broader firm

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD**$110,000.00** - USD**$150,000.00** . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Black Rock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

For Atlanta, GA Only the salary range for this position is USD**$100,000.00** - USD**$135,000.00** . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Black Rock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
