The Team:

The Global Marketing & Digital Wealth organization at Black Rock is a forward-looking, globally connected team at the center of the firm’s most high-impact priorities. ​Black Rock is looking for a data engineer to join the Digital Data Engineering team. In this role, you will help develop data integrations between Black Rock’s internal data systems and our external marketing technology platforms. You will work with business partners to develop data structures, build ETL pipelines, and implement appropriate data governance and monitoring.

As part of Black Rock’s Digital organization, this role supports our mission to create AI-enabled, personalized and scalable marketing experiences. You will build the data foundations that power next generation digital platforms, audience personalization, and intelligent activation across a global ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines that support AI-enabled digital experiences, personalization, and marketing automation.

  • Leverage AI-driven development and testing tools to increase engineering quality, speed, and reliability.

  • Contribute to ongoing platform modernization efforts across Martech, content, analytics, and web ecosystems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data is structured and governed in ways that accelerate downstream personalization and analytics use cases.

  • Architect and develop data solutions to bring new datasets into digital ecosystem including Private Markets data and product data.

Core Skills:​

  • You have flawless written and verbal communication and ability to gain buy-in on plans from a non-technical audience

  • You have experience working with a broad set of stakeholders, including non-technical and non-quantitative people.

  • You are comfortable using AI tools to enhance development workflows, such as prototyping, testing, documentation, and data validation.

  • You have a strong desire to develop creatively and promote innovation.

  • You're self-motivated and able to think big while also taking direction and feedback.

  • You have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in in SQL and Python, with experience in both RDBMS and Big Data structures. Existing experience with Snowflake-specific concepts is desirable.

  • Familiarity with using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, code review, unit test development) to improve quality and delivery efficiency.

  • ETL and pipeline development experience with Airflow and DBT.

  • CI/CD experience with Azure and understanding of API frameworks is a plus.

  • B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Knowledge of Marketing technology platforms is desirable, but not required (e.g., Eloqua/Marketo, web analytics platforms, customer data platforms).

  • Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems.

  • Adaptability and resiliency when overcoming challenges.

Our hybrid work model

Black Rock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
