About this role

Black Rock Transformation Office (BTO) is a global group of change professionals that deliver strategic transformation to help make Black Rock greater than the sum of its parts. We drive 1BLK outcomes by continuously connecting, and being students of, the firm’s people, processes, and technology.

We are a versatile team made up of individuals with varied experiences and backgrounds motivated by the challenge of finding solutions which benefit Black Rock and our clients.

Your role and impact

We will teach you how the firm works and combined with your financial markets / investment management industry knowledge and technical skills, you will play a key role partnering with business, technology, and BTO leaders in delivering some of the firm’s most strategic, complex, and high-valued projects.

This is not a traditional generic project management role where you are responsible only for project coordination / facilitation. We are looking for problem solvers who thrive in understanding the details and are directly involved (i.e., get your hands dirty) in the design and implementation of scalable solutions that typically integrate process, technology, and organizational change. Your responsibilities

  • Partner with business leads to drive strategic projects / project workstreams, including commercial opportunities as well as sophisticated client and technology mandates, to completion
  • Develop project objectives with measurable goals and communicate plans and outcomes to partners
  • Quickly learn relevant content and contribute to current state analysis and future state design
  • Build innovative solutions / ideas to solve problems
  • Support business partners on workflow improvements to maximize our technology and capacity / identify areas for improvement in business processes and technology tools
  • Partner closely with subject matter experts and engineers on prioritization and project execution
  • Help manage communication to stakeholders / management across levels
  • Stay current by being a student of global finance and technology trends impacting Black Rock and the industry

Your experience

  • 3-5 years of work experience, ideally within financial services or similar industry
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to clearly articulate objectives
  • Experience in business process analysis, design, and implementation
  • Ambitious and proactive: able to show initiative and come up with ideas without prompting
  • Ability to think on your feet: suggest solutions as issues come to light
  • Sense of curiosity
  • Experience with AI (artificial intelligence) /ML (machine learning), including large language models, Open

Our hybrid work model

Black Rock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
