Role – Vice President AQE

APG –QA is a globally distributed team supporting Quality Engineering initiatives for Apps on the Aladdin. The Testing team employs use of industry-leading tools to support the testing activities.

Job Purpose/Background: The Vice President (VP) – Aladdin Quality Engineering (AQE) will lead quality strategy, automation, and engineering excellence across Aladdin platforms, with a strong focus on ETF, Mutual Funds, and Asset Management workflows spanning Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office.

This role is responsible for driving automation‑first, AI‑enabled quality engineering, ensuring scalable, resilient, and audit‑ready delivery for mission‑critical financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Automation Leadership

  • Define and execute the AQE strategy aligned with Aladdin and firmwide technology objectives.

  • Drive automation first testing across UI, API, and backend layers using modern frameworks.

  • Establish best practices for test suite design, regression optimization, and release confidence.

Test Engineering & Framework Design

  • Own and evolve test framework architecture, including:

  • UI automation (Selenium, Playwright)

  • API & backend testing (REST, batch workflows)

  • Data validation and reconciliation testing

  • Ensure high standards for test coverage, maintainability, performance, and reliability.

  • Implement robust error reporting, failure analysis, and test result assurance mechanisms.

AI Driven Quality Engineering

  • Lead adoption of AI /Agentic AI for:

  • Test generation and maintenance

  • Intelligent test selection and orchestration

  • Automated defect triage and RCA

  • Embed AI into the testing lifecycle to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.

Cloud & Platform Enablement

  • Enable QA strategies for cloud native and hybrid environments.

  • Drive testing approaches for distributed systems, microservices, and event driven architectures.

  • Partner with Platform, DevOps, and SRE teams to strengthen environment stability and observability.

Financial Domain & Product Expertise

  • Provide strong QA leadership across:

  • Front Office: Order management, trading, execution workflows

  • Middle Office: Settlements, confirmations, lifecycle processing

  • Back Office: Accounting, reconciliation, reporting

  • Deep exposure to ETFs, Mutual Funds, Asset Management products, and investment operations.

  • Ensure QA processes meet regulatory, audit, and risk requirements.

Stakeholder & People Leadership

  • Act as a senior partner for Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business stakeholders.

  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear QA strategy and execution plans.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow high performing global QA teams.

  • Drive strong governance, communication, and transparency across delivery programs.

  • The Vice President role encompasses both leadership and individual contributor responsibilities. The incumbent is expected to actively engage in hands‑on delivery and execution of complex workstreams, in addition to managing teams and driving strategic outcomes, based on evolving business and project demands.

Required Skills / Experience:

The candidate is encouraged to possess and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area

  • 10+ years of proven experience in Software Quality Assurance in a financial services firm (e.g., Investment Banking, Asset Management), including writing manual tests (positive and negative), test automation development and execution.

  • Good exposure with Testing methodologies, Test plan, Test strategy, RTM and Test estimation etc. with experience in UI testing

Technical & Automation Skills

  • Strong Handson and strategic experience in:

  • Test Automation (UI, API, Backend)

  • Selenium and Playwright

  • Backend testing and data validation

  • Expertise in test framework design and test suite optimization.

  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms and distributed systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.

AI & Innovation

  • Experience leveraging AI Agents / Agentic AI in testing or engineering workflows.

  • Strong interest in applying AI to test generation, analysis, and decision-making.

Domain Expertise

  • Asset Management / Financial Services background is strongly preferred.

  • Deep understanding of:

  • ETFs and Mutual Funds

  • Front, Middle, and Back Office investment workflows

  • Familiarity with financial regulations, controls, and audit expectations.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Proven stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and Handson levels.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on quality, resilience, and scalability.

  • Experience leading large, global, cross functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Aladdin or similar investment platforms.

  • Exposure performance testing, resiliency testing, and chaos engineering.

  • Prior experience driving enterprise-wide QA transformation initiatives.
