Best Buy Co. has openings in Richfield, Minnesota, for a Data Science Manager position.

Manage a small team of data scientists that performs data analytics, data modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence based on the business requirements, focusing in one area of data science or aligned to a single area of business or operations.

Conduct and review analytics using data mining and machine learning to identify anomalies, patterns, and correlations with a large dataset to predict outcomes and inform decisions.

Interpret data model results to provide recommendations that feed into interconnecting products and business solutions.

Implement and integrate improvements for varying algorithmic approaches.

Generate and test new ideas for analytical and machine learning products, identify opportunities for applying machine learning to business by incorporating use-cases.

Communicate assumptions, results, and implications of statistical and machine learning models that solve business problems.

May educate business clients and leaders on how recommended solutions impact other business clients by identifying interactions between components or linkages of multiple processes.

Participate in discussions with business partners regarding potential statistical modeling and machine learning solutions.

Review, edit, and approve data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence models produced by direct reports.

Requires Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science or a related data analytics degree.

Position requires at least 3 years of experience (1) using artificial intelligence & machine learning frameworks to identify business trends; (2) using statistical methods and data modeling in a business context; (3) working in a business, retail, and/or analytics industry that handles large datasets; (4) utilizing programming languages (SQL, SAS, Python, and/or R).

The pay ranges from $142,230/year to $142,230/year.
