As an Engineer II you will play a key role in driving the Product Detail Page forward using React Native. You’ll take ownership of feature work from start to finish, analyze opportunities to improve application performance, and collaborate with other teams to deliver seamless experiences. You’ll also help define best practices and patterns for engineers across the PDP team, ensuring consistency and quality in everything we build.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do

• Complete medium-large sized features and resolve defects independently.
• Participate in team planning and contribute to technical discussions.
• Triage simple-mid level issues on your own and assist with more complex problems.
• Engage in feature design and reviews with guidance from senior engineers.
• Collaborate across partner teams while following established best practices.
• Onboard and mentor junior engineers in the team.

Basic qualifications

• 2 years of experience in technology, software or product development, technical architecture or engineering

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience

• 2+ years of professional experience with React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript, and degree or equivalent experience

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, close-knit team environment.

• Proven ability to triage and manage complex production issues

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• 3+ years of professional experience with React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript
• Experience with React, Xcode, Android Studio, GraphQL (Apollo), Zustand, Nx and Github Actions
• Strong communication skills for working with distributed teams.
