Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for control systems engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops designs for Controls Systems engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed​

  • Assists in constructing detailed scale models​

  • Ensures compliance with approved Control Systems design standards, installation codes and regulations in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design​

  • Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion​

  • Participates in constructability reviews​

  • Coordinates the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline​

  • Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements​

  • Assists in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Control Systems designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline​

  • Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Control Systems design​

  • Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models with minimal guidance from others​

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
