Project Overview: Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner). Job Summary: He/ She will be technical competent, ideally in MEP and have a knowledge of Railway Engineering. They will be responsible for coordinating all elements concerning interface management to ensure complete and timely delivery of interface information is exchanged between the multiple PPP Contractors, Progressive Design and Build Contractors and EAW Contractors. The role incudes the facilitation and managing oversight of requirements, Hazard Log and Security Analysis, through the Interface lifecycle.#LI-RM1 Major Responsibilities: Supporting the Integration Manager on all interface related issues between Project Cos, TAs, Customer and other vendors across projects · Support facilitation of interface meetings and governance calendar, including tracking milestone dates; · Facilitate technical meetings ensuring actions are coordinated and closed in a timely manner; · Review designs in development and upon submission for approval; · Provide design feedback to contractors and suggest efficient alternatives where applicable; · Review proposed changes, identify rationale, prepare engineering evolutions, and support change management; · Gather and assess information to ensure Early Works and other schedules are aligned with Project Co submissions; · Assist in determining construction interfaces of non-PPP packages with future PPP packages to meet output specifications; · Support development of mitigation and/or incentives to reduce risks related to utility and construction interfaces; · In collaboration with the project team, provide advice on contract management and interface issues; · Review project schedules to ensure interface requirements and timely delivery across the program; · Provide input into the Master Interface Schedule and identify risks and opportunities; · Establish and maintain oversight of interface requirements, including Hazard and Security logs; · Create, maintain and improve project development, interfacing and implementation processes; · Identify, record and share best practices and lessons learned; · Work with the TA to align IDR, constructability and commissioning processes; · Attend weekly DIWG and liaise with CIWG (Schedule 39); · Provide oversight and develop presentations for senior management (Integration Committee); · Review transferred information and provide feedback on safety inputs; · Coordinate efforts to develop assurance packages for Joint Corridor aligning engineering/construction deliverables; · Review project documentation (RFIs, Change Orders, Change Directives) impacting assurance or interfaces; · Manage commissioning, handover, close-out and warranty (Schedules 8 and 14); · Monitor information flow from third parties to support timely engineering/integration progress; · In support of Schedule 10, work with Contractors to: 1. Consolidate ICDs/IDRs into a master list; 2. Agree IFL and IFP for all ICDs/IDRs; 3. Review submittals and interface dependencies; 4. Participate in coordination sessions for formal submissions; 5. Assess required information exchanges across interfaces (PDM); 6. Track and align exchange dates with the project schedule; 7. Monitor quality of exchanged information and recommend improvements; 8. Consolidate Integration Submittal quality and track performance; 9. Ensure constructability reviews as design progresses; 10. Coordinate with T&C to ensure testing requirements are captured in ICDs. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of experience working in the rail industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience Successful Interface Management track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance). Required Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills. A firm understanding of rail engineering procedures, principles, and concepts. Knowledgeable in planning and executing high value, multi-faceted lump-sum turnkey civil infrastructure projects.
