Job Summary: The Application Specialist – 3D CAD role is core of Bechtel's Engineering design and delivery of Project’s digital execution and delivery. The role is responsible for effective setup, configuration, adoption, and continuous improvement of 2D and 3D CAD applications for Project’s Engineering team, configuring them to meet Project requirements and ensuring Project deliverables are aligned. The role partners closely with engineering leadership and project teams to support quality, productivity, and digital delivery objectives. Major Responsibilities: Represents CAD Support for end-to-end application and automation support, including environment setup, configuration, catalog and reference data management, user access, and administration. Customize Smart 3D tools, workflows, reports, and templates to meet project-specific requirements. Support execution of the Project Automation Plan with a focus on Smart 3D modeling, reporting, and data quality. Support Smart 3D data integration with downstream Procurement and construction requirements Support 3D model quality control and software QA activities to ensure compliance with project and corporate standards. Evaluate, test, and support implementation of Automation for Smart 3D Relate Smart3D to a particular discipline and give direction and guidance during implementation on project. Should have a good knowledge of best practices. Participating in technical workshops and training Provide consultancy across department functions and services. Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level professionals. Exercise ingenuity and independent judgment to the development of solutions for complex problems. Demonstrate knowledge of principles and concepts of product specialization. Apply expertise as a Smart 3D specialist and has an extended knowledge of interrelationship of products. Exercise self-direction, decision making and be considered senior level Automation support employee within the organization. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer or related science from a four-year accredited college or university and 10+ years’ experience; or in lieu of degree, 14+ years of progressive experience in relevant industry Required Knowledge and Skills: Requires 10+ years of experience with Smart 3D implementing interfaces with peripheral applications Experience with Visual Basic 6, Microsoft .NET, COM/.NET, Microsoft SQL server setup/administration, and Client/Server architecture of Windows.
