Do you enjoy driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across integrated well solutions and project execution?

Partner with the best

Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company serving the oil and gas sector across more than 120 countries. The Integration & Solutions (I&S) organization delivers integrated project solutions across well construction, completions, intervention, and abandonment. By leveraging operational excellence frameworks, digital tools, and cross-functional collaboration, the team drives safe, reliable, and cost-efficient execution while enhancing customer value and project profitability.

Fuel your passion

The Integration & Solutions Operational Excellence (OE) Engineer plays a critical role within the Operational Excellence & Assurance (OE&A) framework, leading the deployment of OE strategy, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives across I&S projects.

This role focuses on strengthening execution excellence, reliability, and “first-time-right” performance by identifying systemic gaps, standardizing processes, and embedding continuous improvement practices. The OE Engineer partners with multiple stakeholders to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost while ensuring alignment with Baker Hughes governance standards and operational priorities.

As an Integration & Solutions Operational Excellence Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving deployment of Operational Excellence strategy across I&S projects, translating business goals into actionable initiatives and KPIs
  • Promoting a strong HSE culture by ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes non-negotiables and embedding safety practices across all operations
  • Leading performance management systems, including KPI tracking, reporting, visual management, and governance routines
  • Facilitating Operational Excellence reviews and cross-functional governance forums such as Reliability Councils
  • Supporting reliability improvement through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Field Incident Management Process (FIMP), and corrective actions to reduce non-productive time (NPT)
  • Collaborating with product lines, suppliers, and quality teams to enhance project execution, supplier performance, and customer outcomes
  • Driving digital enablement through tools such as Power BI, MAPS, and other systems to improve data visibility and predictive insights
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives using structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, DMAIC) to deliver measurable business impact
  • Embedding risk management, readiness, and Management of Change (MOC) practices into project execution
  • Supporting audit readiness and integrating assurance outcomes through a Three Lines of Defense approach
  • Coaching teams and leaders on Operational Excellence principles, problem-solving techniques, and performance improvement frameworks
  • Promoting standardization, simplification, and scalability of best practices across projects

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Petroleum Engineering preferred)
  • Have 5+ years of experience in oil and gas, ideally in drilling, completions, or integrated project environments
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of well construction/completion operations and field service delivery
  • Possess experience in Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, or reliability engineering practices
  • Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global matrix organization
  • Be proficient in digital and reporting tools such as Power BI and MS Office
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, or similar continuous improvement frameworks
  • Strong understanding of performance management systems and strategy deployment
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering, RCA methodologies, and risk management
  • Familiarity with digital systems such as MAPS, FRACAS, BHOS, or similar
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions and cultures
  • Solid understanding of assurance frameworks and governance models
