We are seeking a Lead Design Engineer to support the Safety Systems product line in Claremore, Oklahoma, from CTI in Houston, Texas. You will lead the design and development of advanced safety valve technologies and play a key role throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to manufacturing and field support.
As a Lead Design Engineer, in this role, you will be:
Leading engineering projects by:
- Managing engineering programs within defined budgets, schedules, and technical requirements
- Breaking down complex initiatives into actionable milestones
- Preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation
- Delivering design review presentations and supporting stage‑gate approvals
Driving product design & development by:
- Developing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Applying FEA principles including geometry simplification
- Designing cost‑effective solutions in collaboration with supply chain and testing teams
- Ensuring adherence to engineering processes and maintaining project documentation
Collaborating across functions by:
- Working with engineering, testing, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and performance
- Communicating effectively with internal teams and external clients
- Supporting field operations when needed
To be successful in this role you will: Required Qualifications
- Have bachelor’s degree in engineering with 4+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
- Have strong problem‑solving skills with innovative thinking
- Have proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works preferred)
- Have experience with 3D modeling and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Have understanding of FEA and geometry simplification
- Have knowledge of hydraulic systems and forces
- Have proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience
- Programming experience in Visual Basic or web‑based languages
- Familiarity with SAP, Team Center PLM, Solid Works, LabVIEW, and/or FEA tools
- Experience in oilfield equipment design or operations
- Knowledge of API standards
- Experience with product development lifecycle and stage‑gate processes
