As a Discmaker, you will be contributing to the safe and precise manufacturing of rupture discs—critical components that protect industrial systems from overpressure. You will be working with specialized equipment, applying craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on production work, value accuracy, and take pride in producing components that meet the highest safety and performance standards.
As a Discmaker, you will be responsible for:
- Developing layout and planning sequences of operations by studying blueprints, shop orders, and manufacturing procedures
- Setting up and operating equipment such as presses, punches, nibbler cutters, hydraulic testers, lifts, dial indicators, and precision measuring tools
- Forming materials using required equipment to produce rupture discs
- Cleaning rupture disc components according to standard or special cleaning procedures
- Assembling components into completed rupture discs
- Performing burst tests and oven testing on discs
- Inspecting completed rupture discs to verify conformance to specifications
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned based on workload and business needs
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have 1–3 months of work experience in a production environment (experience at CDC preferred)
- Have the ability to read blueprints
- Have basic math and reading skills
- Have working knowledge of industrial equipment used in producing rupture discs
- Have a willingness to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies
- Have strong attention to detail
- Have concern for quality, accuracy, and safety
- Have the ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently
- Have a positive attitude and ability to work well with peers, supervisors, management, and external visitors
- Have the physical ability to stand/walk for most of the shift, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely use required tools and PPE
