About the role

Are you ready to shape sourcing strategies that drive cost, quality, and supply‑chain performance at scale?

Are you able to lead supplier partnerships and influence cross‑functional decisions in a global organization?

Partner with the best

Sourcing and procurement at Baker Hughes are strategic enablers of business performance across Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) and Global Technical Services (GTS). You will play a central role in defining sourcing strategies for direct materials and spare parts, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring reliable supply, competitive cost, and best‑in‑class quality. Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Product Leadership teams, you will help translate business priorities into robust, scalable commodity strategies.

Fuel your passion

As a Sourcing Senior Specialist you will be accountable for end‑to‑end commodity ownership, from long‑term strategy definition through execution and performance management. You will lead supplier engagement, embed sourcing strategies into bid and execution activities, and drive cost, productivity, and value creation initiatives. Your expertise will directly support business growth, operational resilience, and competitive advantage across the IET and GTS portfolios.

As a Sourcing Senior Specialist – Commodity Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing long‑term commodity strategies in partnership with Plant Teams and strategic suppliers, ensuring performance against procurement KPIs for IET, GTS, and CTS businesses.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Leadership teams on product and sourcing strategies (e.g., make/buy decisions, BVC initiatives).
  • Integrating commodity strategies into ITO bid activities during early engagement phases to support competitive and winning customer offers.
  • Ensuring an effective and compliant buying process by optimizing PO placement, driving cost‑reduction initiatives, and managing cost and productivity metrics.
  • Leading supplier selection, development, and partnership management to achieve excellence in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
  • Leveraging Sales & Operations Planning data to align supplier capacity with business demand, ensuring forecast visibility and supply continuity.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Have proven experience leading commodity management or sourcing teams within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Have strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into measurable sourcing and financial outcomes.
  • Have the capability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Have strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with a proactive and self‑starter mindset.
  • Have solid knowledge of supply‑chain principles and technical products relevant to direct materials and spare parts.
