
Director of Contract Operations - Maritime Solutions
About the role
Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Director of Contract Operations to support our Maritime Solutions business. The Director will be responsible for the leadership and execution of all Contracts Operations responsibilities for the Maritime Solutions business area. This position is a part of the Maritime Solutions Contracts leadership team and has the opportunity to work with cross-functional personnel and executives across the enterprise to support the entire spectrum of contracting and acquisition operational effort. This position reports to the Sr Director, Contracts in the Maritime Solutions business area and will regularly engage, provide advice, and work with Maritime Solutions Contracts personnel and leaders across the business area to manage and implement business systems, develop contracting tools and resources, support compliance and audit activities, implement policy and process changes, support staff talent development, and participate in special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop, implement, and maintain Business Area Contracts policies and procedures to ensure adequate policies and processes are in place and verify compliance and alignment with BAE Systems wide policies and procedures
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to recommend and deliver various training programs and workshops for the Contracts function
- Engage with business area Contracts Directors and other personnel to provide clear guidance on compliance, policies, and procedures
- Use organizational skills to manage, coordinate, and respond to requests for taskers, data calls, audits, and all activity in support of the Contracts function
- Manage and oversee Contracts-owned policies and processes, including automated approvals and provide recommendations for streamlining and continuous improvement
- Draft and distribute communications and correspondence to implement changes and distribute updates that are flowed down from Inc. and Sector
- Develop, implement, and maintain tools and resources to improve productivity and efficiency of the Maritime Solutions Contracts function
- Analyze data and information to develop and present briefs and other material to support requirements of the Contracts function
- Provide supervisory responsibilities as needed
- Support proposal and capture efforts, including post award contract negotiation and administration
- Lead and/or consult special projects
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Contracts Management, including managing entire life cycle of both commercial and U.S. Government contracts for complex programs
- Experience in Contract Data Analysis, Data Management, Documentation/Records Management
- Experience in People Leadership, including influencing, training, and developing contracts professionals
- Experience in Change Management, including leading changes and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts to efficiently and effectively reach goals and expectations
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity that frequently require a high degree of ingenuity, innovation, and expertise
- Possess strong motivation and initiative to independently and successfully lead efforts that gather, compile, analyze, and interpret complex multiple-source interdepartmental data
- Ability to manage extensive amounts of data, identify trends and key points, and develop data-driven strategies and action items
- Ability to understand, interpret, and improve policies and procedures
- Ability to work and lead assignments with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership
- Strong organizational agility and business acumen
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Master’s Degree
- Professional Certification NCMA, CFCM, CPCM, etc.
- Experience in Defense, NAVSEA, MSC, and MARAD Ship Repair
- Expertise in Contract Data Analysis, Data Management, Documentation/Records Management
- Experience in managing extensive amounts of data, identifying trends and key points, and developing data-driven strategies and action items
- Experience in Contract Compliance and Auditing
- Experience in Contract Training and Development, maturing Contract capabilities, processes, and systems
- Experience in Process Development/Improvement and Standardizing Frameworks
- Experience in Contract System Implementation, Automation, and Digital Transformation
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $138267 - $235053
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
