About the role

Job Description Under the supervision of a Business Area CDM Manager, the Configuration & Data Management Section Manager will manage a CDM staff of direct reports. This function includes but is not limited to: Performance evaluations, recruiting, time card approvals and authorizations, employee growth and career development, merit and promotional planning, performance improvements, staffing of projects with required skill set.

This position:

  • Applies broad technical knowledge and skills in multiple CDM disciplines to provide direction to Configuration/Data Management (CDM) Product Line Leaders and their Hardware, Software, Configuration and Data Management subordinates.
  • Manages and coordinates Configuration/Data Management on multiple business area programs.
  • Ensures compliance with company and program policies.
  • Directs program software and hardware configuration management activities to ensure compliance with company and program policies, practices and contractual requirements.
  • Is responsible and accountable for all matters pertaining to program configuration management.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Ability to perform the role of Configuration & Data Management Section Manager – which includes:

1. Overall responsibility for program planning and execution of all Configuration/Data management functions. Review of technical requirements and the development of the Program Configuration/Data Management Plans. Directs the resolution of all Configuration/Data management issues to meet customer requirements and expectations, and company policies and procedures. Configuration/Data management spokesman to the customer and user community.2. Assure the Configuration/Data management program teams have the required resources and talent to be successful. Manage the Configuration/Data management functions through an effective integration of the roles and practices of multiple engineering, program and operations disciplines. Lead the development of techniques, practices and approaches toward the solution of a wide variety of complex Configuration/Data management problems.3. Mentor Configuration/Data management staff and assist in personnel succession planning. Recommends actions related to hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, and training for all assigned configuration team members. Proactive advocate of Configuration/Data management tool and process best practices. Serve as departmental representative to process improvement teams.4. Leads Configuration/Data management functions, including review of technical requirements and the development of the Program Configuration Management Plan(s). Directed activities are to include, but are not limited to, builds, releases, baseline construction, library management, and change control. Disseminates program software and hardware configuration management requirements to other functional groups, as necessary, to ensure all requirements are fulfilled. 5. Within the confines of program funding and direction, defines and has cognizant responsibility for all tool related activities to be executed, such as library construction, build frequencies, PDM implementation and baseline documentation. Directs the resolution of all configuration management issues relating to program contractual requirements and company policies and procedures. Generates configuration management inputs to program cost proposals, ensuring that all configuration management contractual requirements are satisfied, costed and scheduled.6. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with customers and their representatives. Prepares and presents configuration status accounting reports for configuration management activities during customer and company program reviews. Provides input to subcontractor statements of work, ensuring the implementation of a subcontractor configuration management system that meets all program and company configuration management requirements. Reviews, monitors and audits all subcontractor configuration management activities.7. Reviews functional plans and technical data items relating to product definition to ensure all configuration management requirements have been addressed and properly integrated with the requirements defined within the Program Configuration Management Plan(s). Ensures overall cost and schedule performance of all program configuration management elements and provides timely status reporting to program and company management.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in oversight of the 3 CDM disciplines, HCM, SCM and DM and CDML as the Section Manager.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
