POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Systems Engineer (Senior Staff). The EVA SE&I Systems Engineer will work with all elements of the AxEVA program teams to develop and manage the Portable Life Support System (PLSS) in the context of the overall EVA program. The Systems Engineer will also aid in supporting SE&I and PLSS to coordinate and deliver a portable life support system that functions with the AxEVA System through collaborative efforts, including but not limited to requirements management, integration, and verification activities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for PLSS systems conception, including 1) concept of operations, functions, and interfaces, 2) subsystem-level requirements, 3) procurement specifications, including synthesis, traceability, derivation, stakeholder needs, impact assessments, and requirements maintenance and updates

Responsible for definition, planning, coordination and closure for PLSS related requirements

Coordinate PLSS product breakdown structures and architecture definition

Support PLSS development by providing system level support and information, including change impacts to/from other areas of the AxEVA System

Define and maintain PLSS integrated performance assessments

Monitor design and testing progress and communicate potential issues to SE&I

Develop waivers and other variances

Communicate PLSS progress and status

Collaborate with system and subsystem engineer, program office personnel, and other external customers for SE&I planning, scheduling, and execution

Perform additional job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
-
BS Degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or related field required (MS preferred)

10+ years’ experience and corresponding expertise in Systems Engineering and Integration activities and functions
-
INCOSE CSEP Preferred
-
Experience in the EVA design, development, operations, and/or testing domains
-
Experience in the development of Space Systems following the Systems Engineering development lifecycle, including stakeholder requirements, technical requirements analysis and decomposition, system architectures, technical performance measures, and verification and validation planning and execution

Experience with Space Suits preferred

Familiarity with Jama, DOORS, or other requirements management database software suites

Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
