If you’re an experienced manager or business operator ready to take the next leap in your career, this opportunity offers the rare chance to run your own business without the burden of upfront capital investment. Avis Budget Group is offering a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual the opportunity to become the Agency Operator for our Airlie Beach, QLD location—a role perfectly suited to someone who thrives on autonomy, leadership, and the challenge of growing a well‑established brand in a thriving regional market. As the Agency Operator, you’ll take the reins of an existing rental operation, build and lead your own team, and drive the continued success of the Avis brand in one of Queensland’s most iconic destinations. You’ll enjoy the freedom of running your own business while benefiting from the support, systems, and guidance of a multinational corporation—including close collaboration with the Queensland State Manager.
This is more than a job; it’s a pathway to business ownership, income growth, and long‑term success in a location brimming with potential.

In taking over this rental operation you would be required to pay overheads such as staffing and insurance but would use Avis Budget Group equipment and take a percentage of the revenue. The successful Agency Operator will be responsible to the State Manager. This is a remote location but one that presents growth and opportunity.

  • Working efficiently and effectively in a team environment

  • Maintaining Avis standards in line with company guidelines

  • Liaising with the Fleet and Commercial Managers for fleet requirements

  • Printing, actioning and monitoring reports to initiate appropriate actions

  • Performing duties as requested

  • Identifying potential business opportunities

  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to succeed in their own business

  • The ability to operate a small business, along with the necessary financial & statutory reporting skills

  • Proficiency in using the Office suite

  • Managerial or supervisory experience

  • Basic knowledge of employee relations legislation, including but not limited to Workplace Health & Safety, Bullying & Harassment

  • The ability to work independently

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • A commitment to our ABG Vision and Values
