About the Role

Forma Design is becoming a platform. Not only multiple design tool for architects, but the foundation AEC workflows are built on, by internal teams, partners, and a growing ecosystem of third-party developers.

The Ecosystem team owns the interfaces through which the outside world connects to Forma Design: public APIs, extension framework, SDK, and AI-ready integrations. Ecosystem is about enablement: making it possible for partners and developers to build on Forma Design. Extensions is the technical foundation: the SDK, APIs, and framework they build with. Our customers are both internal product teams and external software developers.

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead this team at a pivotal time: growing our partner-built integrations, evolving our SDK, and establishing direction for AI-powered developer workflows.

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a stable backlog.\ It is highly visible, technically demanding, and requires setting direction both internally and externally while driving discovery and delivery in parallel.

What You Will Build

1. Partner-Built Integrations

Identify and enable partners capable of building on Forma Design's APIs to deliver integrated experiences powered by third-party data and workflows. Drive the cross-team work needed to make APIs production-ready for external consumption.

2. Extension SDK

Refine and evolve the SDK powering extensions in Forma Design's applications. Expand the framework as the product portfolio grows, enabling customers to adapt workflows to their needs.

3.

AI-Powered Developer Workflows:

Launch support for AI-driven integrations that let developers and partners build intelligent workflows on top of Forma Design. Set direction for teams across the product area and drive improvements to the underlying framework.

What You Will Do

Product Discovery & Strategy

Lead discovery with external developers, independent software vendors, and SaaS partners. Define Forma Design's ecosystem strategy: which interfaces to invest in, which to retire, and how to sequence the transition. We expect you to bring AI into how you work, not just what you build.

Product Delivery

Own the Ecosystem roadmap, balancing partner-facing delivery, platform investment, and legacy maintenance. Partner closely with engineering and design to deliver iteratively against clear outcomes.

Platform Enablement

Support Forma Design teams in building with extensibility in mind. Publish documentation and enablement materials. Define and track metrics that reflect real platform adoption, not just output.

Stakeholder Communication

Represent the team in cross-team forums and partner discussions. Make trade-offs visible: legacy vs. new investment, internal vs. external needs, short-term utility vs. long-term platform direction.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product management in B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or API products
  • Experience working with external developers, independent software vendors, or technical partners
  • Strong platform and systems thinking
  • Comfort operating across multiple workstreams simultaneously (maintenance alongside greenfield)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make clear calls without waiting for full certainty
  • Strong communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated AI fluency in your own work: you've used AI to unlock capabilities you didn't have before, built workflows or agents that compound over time, and can show a clear before/after in how you operate as a PM

Preferred:

  • Hands-on familiarity with API design, SDK development, or extension model architecture
  • Experience with developer experience (DX) or developer relations
  • Interest in AEC, construction technology, or early-stage design workflows

Why This Role

Forma Design has spent years building the foundational pieces that allow multiple applications across our portfolio to connect, collaborate, and share outcomes. That foundation is now ready to open up. This team is building the layer that lets third-party developers and partners join in, extending what Forma Design can do far beyond what any single team could build alone.

The work is complex, the dependencies are real, and the impact is tangible: shaping how an entire industry integrates and builds.
