Position Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Experience Designer with a passion for crafting intuitive solutions for complex problems and who is ignited by the opportunity to grow their career with a global team of design professionals, working on the Autodesk Fusion platform.

Autodesk Fusion is the only unified, cloud-based platform that connects CAD, CAM, CAE, electronics, and data management in one seamless environment. Unlike traditional desktop CAD systems, Fusion is built for the future of Design and Make: cloud-connected, AI-augmented, and collaboration-first. It enables distributed teams to work in real time, integrates manufacturing directly into the design process, and leverages generative design and automation to explore outcomes humans alone couldn’t efficiently create.

As an Experience Designer at Autodesk, you will apply your experience design and research skills to help us craft the next generation of CAD tools for Autodesk Fusion and our manufacturing platform. You'll work with a talented team of Experience Designers and Experience Architects, as well as stakeholders from Product Management, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Content Development, and Quality Assurance, to create compelling experiences that help our customers solve their most critical design and manufacturing problems. You will be on the cutting edge of the latest agentic and AI-enabled experiences.

We’re looking for designers who are excited to understand our customers' world and build strong empathy for the work they do, then design creative solutions that lean into next-generation AI tools and experiences, expanding what is possible while delighting customers and meeting business objectives and deadlines.

To be considered, please include your resume and portfolio when applying, along with your password for access.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate customer requirements through storytelling, interactive prototypes, and detailed visual/functional design specifications

  • Design and optimize products and interactions based on a thorough understanding of customer needs, context, and business objectives.

  • Propose solutions and processes to solve complex design challenges. Apply and extend design patterns and devise new solutions for unique scenarios.

  • Facilitate and moderate customer research in 1-on-1 and group settings to gain insights that inform better business and design decisions.

  • Partner with Product Management, Development, Experience Design colleagues, and other stakeholders to prioritize and execute on project work and to ensure a cohesive experience.

  • Maintain familiarity with other Autodesk products and competitive products to ensure the viability of proposed solutions.

  • Develop next-generation experiences that make use of the latest agentic technologies and AI tools to accelerate decisions and drive better outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction design

  • 5+ years of professional UX or product design experience, with demonstrated impact leading complex, workflow-heavy product areas

  • Strong portfolio showcasing ownership of end-to-end experiences for mobile and web products, including complex operational or data-driven workflows

  • Experience within the fields of Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with 3D design/engineering/manufacturing software (Solidworks, Inventor, Pro/Engineer, etc)

  • Proven ability to define experience strategy and influence product direction beyond feature-level design

  • Deep expertise in translating complex user needs and business requirements into scalable, intuitive interaction models

  • Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive alignment in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Am I a liar? I got hired for a high-paying 3D design job and they think I’m using hardcore CAD software. I’m not.

I need some outside perspective because this is starting to keep me up at night. A few weeks ago I got hired at a company to help design a new product. The pay is honestly way higher than anything I expected. During interviews they mostly focused on my portfolio and how quickly I could iterate concepts. They seemed really impressed. Now that I’m here, everyone seems to assume I’m some kind of industrial desing/mechanical engineering CAD expert. I'm actually self-taught from YouTube. People i

[Video Games] Darkstalkers Are Not Dead: the story of Yoshinori Ono's failed attempt at necromancy

# How we got here In the mid-to-late 2000s, Japan's video game scene went through some serious troubles: although plenty of beloved games still came out, the Lost Decade crash had driven several Japanese companies into bankruptcy or consolidation, and several development tools had been deprecated (most famously Autodesk Maya). Because of this, some Japanese designers, like Tecmo's **Tomonobu Itagaki** (3D *Ninja Gaiden*, *Dead or Alive*) and Capcom's **Keiji Inafune** (*Mega Man*), instead turn
