Overall Purpose:

Bring your advanced skills in trend analysis, root cause analysis, predictive modeling, and statistical techniques to leverage data from diverse internal and external sources. Your insights will solve complex business problems, explain and predict behaviors, optimize business performance, and identify opportunities to monetize products for sale.

A pivotal aspect of this role is your ability to distill massive quantities of customer data and analytic results into compelling narratives—delivering clear, easy-to-follow conclusions, business-informed implications, and actionable recommendations. Your work will empower strategic business decisions and drive real impact across the organization.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Gather, analyze, and interpret diverse data sets to solve a variety of business problems, predict behaviors, and identify causal relationships and triggers. Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks Delta Lake) is essential. Data sources may include internal and external systems, data lakes, and warehouses such as eCDW and BIDW.

  • Statistical Methods and Predictive Modeling:

Apply advanced statistical and modeling techniques to quantify data variance, support decision-making, and validate predictive models (e.g., linear/logistic regression, time series analysis). Use tools such as Tableau, Palantir, Power BI (AI Insights), Databricks, AWS, Azure, Synapse, and H2O Driverless AI.

  • Business Case Development and Monetization:

Develop business cases and complex models using big data analytics platforms to support process integration and recommend improvements to processes, financials, and business models. Identify and evaluate opportunities to monetize products and solutions.

  • Reporting, Visualization, and Communication:

Create impactful dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings. Advise business partners on data patterns and relationships, providing strategic recommendations. Translate complex analytics into clear, compelling stories for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Leadership and Strategic Collaboration:

Lead critical, high-impact analytics projects, mentor other analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional business partners. Operate with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions.

Education/Experience:

Master’s degree (MS/MA) preferred from an accredited university in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics. 7+ years of relevant experience required. Certification may be required in some areas.

Our Principal Advanced Analytics earns between $141,300 - $211,900 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
