RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

AT&T is seeking a Voice System Administrator to support mission‑critical communications in a government contract environment. This role provides hardware engineering expertise to analyze, design, and support complex voice and network systems that require high reliability, security, and performance.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and architecture issues while ensuring systems meet strict contractual and operational requirements in support of government missions.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

The Voice System Administrator provides hands‑on hardware engineering and system support for mission‑critical voice and network environments in support of government customers. This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting complex hardware systems while ensuring solutions meet operational, contractual, and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
  • Provide preventative and remedial hardware maintenance to ensure system reliability and availability.
  • Deploy, install, and implement hardware solutions in operational environments.
  • Analyze documented and derived system requirements to prepare hardware specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess technical readiness and infrastructure needs.
  • Develop engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages (TDPs).
  • Configure and document computers, networking devices, servers, storage systems, and peripheral equipment.
  • Prepare site installation documentation, test plans, and test reports.
  • Identify system issues, validate root causes, and ensure solutions fully satisfy user and mission requirements.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations related to existing and emerging hardware technologies.
  • Contribute hardware engineering input to overall system design, including end‑user devices, servers, networking components, data storage, and specialized processors.
  • This position requires a disciplined technical professional capable of operating in structured, compliance‑driven environments while supporting high‑availability government systems.

Required Clearance:

TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Five (5) additional years of Systems Administration experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications environments, including CUCM, CMS, UCCX, and Unity.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals; experience with E911 systems and voice teleconferencing technologies is highly desirable.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with project management, security, asset management, and customer support teams to resolve technical issues and manage system initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution skills are required to support complex, mission‑critical environments.

Our Voice System Administrator (SA1) (Government) earns between $72,000 - $101,600 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
