Associate Director - Media and Advertising at AT&T

Overall Purpose:
The Associate Director of Media & Advertising is responsible for leading the end-to-end strategy, execution, and optimization of digital advertising and campaign operations across the Currently consumer-facing digital properties – including Currently.com, consumer email and portal experiences, and ATT.com.
This role serves as the business lead for AT&T’s strategic partnership with Yahoo, owning joint monetization plans and ad stack performance. The Associate Director is also responsible for defining requirements for performance reporting and is a key stakeholder in consumer product operations. This position will lead advertising operations and reporting & analytics with a focus on improving average revenue per user, increasing user engagement, and driving advertising demand stability.
This is a high-impact, results-oriented role that blends business leadership, partner management, and digital media expertise. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in ad monetization, campaign execution, ad stack development, and digital content strategy—along with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence both internal teams and external partners to optimize digital experiences.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team of advertising and product experts, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence.
- Act as the primary business lead and counterpart to Yahoo for Currently, managing the collaborative advertising and operational roadmap across Currently.com, AT&T’s portal and email experiences, and ATT.com.
- Own advertising monetization strategy and campaign execution across AT&T’s digital properties, with a focus on increasing ARPU, user engagement, and revenue contribution from digital media.
- Develop and manage an ongoing pipeline of campaign and advertising initiatives in collaboration with Yahoo, including new ad product testing, performance optimization, and operational improvements.
- Oversee site performance reporting, user engagement trends, campaign analytics, and yield analysis to evaluate advertising effectiveness, identify UX and performance concerns, and adjust levers in real-time.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including Media, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Product, and Analytics—to ensure campaign success, revenue alignment, and strategic integration.
- Expand and enhance the analytic product suite to provide UX recommendations and early warnings for technical or performance issues impacting consumer product operations
- Ensure operational excellence and partner accountability through consistent measurement, forecasting, and reporting on advertising KPIs. Own relationship with internal partners for all AT&T FP&A activities.
- Represent AT&T’s digital media business interests in senior leadership forums and external partner conversations, providing strategic insights and influencing future roadmap development.

Compensation: Our Associate Director earn between $158,200 - $237,400 USD annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
