Job Description:
Field Service Technician II
Job Summary
As a Field Service Technician II, you will play a key role during the operational phase of projects. You will support customers throughout the execution phase and supervise the installation of mechanical and electrical components during pre‑commissioning. You will also be responsible for commissioning activities, as well as on-site warranty and after‑sales service support.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and report logistics activities during the project material supply phase.
- Provide technical support to customers throughout the different construction phases of the plant, identifying and reporting issues and ensuring a smooth installation process.
- Supervise mechanical and electrical installation activities during the pre‑commissioning phase.
- Coordinate and organize on‑site activities, including subcontractors and suppliers, as required by the project.
- Prepare weekly progress reports covering installation status, incidents, and non‑conformities.
- Produce technical documentation upon completion of pre‑commissioning, cold commissioning, and hot commissioning activities, and communicate identified issues to both the customer and the project team.
- Control and manage company‑owned inventory and materials upon arrival at site.
- Configure and commission plant control and communication systems.
- Perform and coordinate troubleshooting activities during the plant optimization phase to ensure maximum availability.
- Analyze plant availability based on data obtained from the control system.
- Investigate operational failures and propose improvement actions to the engineering department.
- Prepare final documentation prior to the handover of the plant to the end customer.
- Deliver product training to customers during the final commissioning phase.
- Provide technical support for After‑Sales or Warranty activities for plants under O&M phase.
Qualifications
- Higher Vocational Training (Advanced Technical Degree / FP II), preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Telecommunications disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively with objectives and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time.
- Solid knowledge of electricity and telecommunications.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, including structural alignment and leveling.
- High level of autonomy and accountability.
- Proactive and resilient mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data management and reporting.
- Programming knowledge (Python, Siemens PLCs).
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken (minimum B2 level). Fluent communication skills required to interact with customers and discuss technical topics.
