Advanced Software Engineer – Embedded Cybersecurity

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Software Engineer with deep expertise in Embedded Systems and Cybersecurity. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development capability, and the ability to design, implement, and validate secure embedded software for next-generation products. The ideal candidate has significant experience building secure, high-reliability software on embedded platforms, with strong knowledge in secure boot, secure updates, communication protection mechanisms, and ASPICE-compliant workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software in C/C++ on POSIX, QNX, and Linux platforms. Working knowledge on the file system and security capabilities.
• Architect and implement security-critical components such as secure boot, secure firmware updates, secOC, MACSec, key management, and cryptographic workflows.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards including ISO 21434, AUTOSAR Security, and ASPICE.
• Analyze and debug complex embedded systems using GDB, Lauterbach TRACE32, CANoe, and hardware debugging tools.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement robust fixes.
• Work within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality releases.
• Responsible for delivering ASPICE work products from SWE.1 to SWE.6 and traceability.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ with system-level programming experience on POSIX/QNX/Linux.
• Expertise in Secure Boot, Secure Firmware Update, secOC, MACSec, and cryptographic libraries (OpenSSL, mbedTLS, wolfSSL).
• Strong debugging capabilities with GDB, Lauterbach TRACE32, CANoe.
• Experience with real-time operating systems, multi-threading, memory management, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile practices.
• Experience working in ASPICE Level 2+ compliant environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive embedded systems.
• Knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Experience with bootloaders, hardware security modules (HSM), and trusted execution environments (TEE).
• Exposure to Ethernet/IP security, TLS, MAC.
• Familiarity with static/dynamic code analysis tools (Coverity, Klocwork, Valgrind).
• Experience with build systems (CMake, Yocto, Bazel) and containerization (Docker).
• Understanding of ISO 26262, ASPICE, and related industry standards.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
