YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Database Administrator on our team, you’ll support Aptiv Connected Services’ automotive datalogging and intelligence platform. In this role, you will design, maintain, and optimize the databases that power our global connected vehicle products. You’ll work with large‑scale relational and non‑relational systems, enabling high‑volume data ingestion, processing, and analytics for next‑generation mobility solutions.

In your daily job you will:

• Maintain, monitor, and optimize databases across multiple platforms
• Optimize cloud database configurations for cost efficiency, performance, and high availability.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues
• Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance with corporate and industry data protection standards.
• Conduct regular system health checks and performance assessments
• Manage backup, recovery, and high‑availability/cluster/DR strategies
• Perform tuning reviews, query monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives
• Deploy, upgrade, and migrate databases
• Partner with Dev and Ops teams to support database reliability, CI/CD integration, schema versioning, and deployment automation.
• Create and maintain documentation for procedures, standards, and policies
• Automate manual operational processes
• Lead and mentor other DBAs and interns, helping shape the team’s processes, standards, and technical maturity.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, related fields)
• 3+ years of experience administering and optimizing My

SQL and MongoDB:

• Experience with AWS database technologies (RDS, Aurora, etc.)
• Background with both cloud and on‑premises database administration
• Ability to develop scripts and procedures to automate routine tasks(GitHub Actions, Terraform, bash, etc.)
• Experience collaborating with development teams to improve performance and reliability
• Experience supporting multi‑terabyte databases and large‑scale distributed environments
