MEMBER OF TECHNICAL STAFF – SYS (USB AND BSP DEVELOPMENT)

YOUR ROLEWind River is seeking an experienced developer to join the Helix Virtualization Platform (HVP) & Vx Works development teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and certification of safety‑critical features and functionality used by our Aerospace, Industrial, and Automotive customers. As a team lead, you will lead a highly skilled development team charged with all aspects of the safety‑critical software development life cycle, from requirements development to implementation to verification. You will work closely with the product management team and system architects to understand and implement customer‑requested features and fixes.

The BSP Factory team is responsible for developing and improving BSPs and drivers for Vx Works/HVP on platforms such as Arm, IA, etc. The contribution will help to drive Wind River’s embedded software business on new So Cs.

YOUR ROLE – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Design and develop Board Support Package (BSP) to adopt a single common architecture and BSP for OS and Hypervisor.
· Help develop, optimize, and deliver the software needed to support HVP & Vx Works, enabling Wind River’s growth in new embedded and enterprise market segments.
· Take initiative to improve features and processes.
· Contribute ideas for product improvements and iterations.
· Collaborate effectively with global software engineering teams.

YOUR BACKGROUND· Experience in embedded software development
· Self‑motivated with a customer‑focused mindset
· Ability to develop product features according to customer requirements
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment

Qualifications· BTech / MTech degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
· Solid understanding of software development methodology
· Minimum 8–15 years’ experience in developing low‑level embedded OS capabilities such as device drivers, BSPs, and board bring‑up
· Experience developing software stacks in C/C++ and working with BSP, HAL, and bootloader development
· Strong understanding of the USB module and stack, including debugging internals
· Understanding of the CAN stack and integration
· Bluetooth knowledge is an added advantage
· Strong understanding of embedded systems and related HW/SW components (Processor, Memory, Peripherals, OS, Device Drivers, etc.)
· Experience with software and drivers for peripherals, controllers, and complex SoC systems for ARM/Intel/PowerPC
· Strong experience with HW interfaces for ARM 64‑bit or Intel Architecture processors, including assembly programming, debugging, and troubleshooting
· Deep understanding of CPU, MMU, Cache, Interrupts, DMA, ADC/DAC, EEPROM, PWM, Watchdog Timers, and other embedded peripherals
· Experience programming PIC, GIC, UART, Timer, Nexus Bus, Simple Bus, Memory Controller, RTC, etc.
· Proficient in Hypervisors and Embedded Virtualization
· Knowledge of RTOS (QNX, Vx Works, FreeRTOS, Linux, etc.) is a plus
