YOUR ROLE

As a Tool Build Engineer you'll launch, coordinate the tool build, have close communication with Product Engineers, Program Manager, Tool Shop and receiving plant to meet PPAP requirement and timing.

In your daily job you will:

• Lead end-to-end tooling development for automotive injection molds (RFQ to TMA).
• Tool build coordinates build and release of new tools used in molding plastic parts.
• Manage global suppliers ensuring cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Builds multiple tools at a time, with different suppliers.
• Drive engineering changes, tool transfers, and program launches.
• ⁠Quotes tool builds for timing and delivery.
• Meet key dates, maintain through put and quality targets
• Perform capacity analysis and support plant tooling strategy.
• ⁠ Maintain system documentation
• Control tooling financials through SAP and support investment tracking.
• ⁠ Close the loop on all tools delivered to the manufacturing sites by complete all documentation records, tool drawings and capital investment.
• Provide executive-level reporting and risk mitigation strategies.
• Maintain system documentation
• Keep communications open with tool build locations and Aptiv manufacturing sites
• Keep detailed history of tool builds
• Follow up to achieve a complete “tool hand off” to end customer
• Execute Tool Launch Meeting and coordinate tool build to meet customer timing
• Perform plans with focus and energy toward exceeding expectations and Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Your Required Background:

• Completed bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of project administration/tooling
• Experience with plastics processing or plastic injection exposure/industry
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand component or tooling prints and models
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Experience and proficiency in UG NX, or other CAD software (Solid Works, Pro-E, etc.)
• Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
• Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
• Advanced English
