Role Overview:

The Global Project Buyer is responsible for managing all procurement activities related to development projects at Intercable Automotive Solutions. Operating from the Saltillo plant while being fully integrated into the global procurement organization, this role ensures the timely sourcing of materials, components, and services required for project success. The position plays a key role in coordinating suppliers, internal stakeholders, and global colleagues while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Main Tasks:

The main responsibilities include procuring raw materials, components, supplies, and services to support development projects while ensuring timely delivery, adherence to deadlines, and efficient handling of all administrative purchasing tasks to guarantee smooth procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Request quotations, compare prices and commercial conditions, and analyze supplier offers.
  • Negotiate deadlines and pricing; monitor compliance; select suppliers in alignment with strategic/commodity buyers; set inforecord/pricelist for prototype and sample stages.
  • Track delivery deadlines, provide feedback to internal stakeholders, and coordinate special transport when needed.
  • Facilitate technical coordination between internal teams and suppliers; participate in project and procurement meetings.
  • Identify synergies across projects to reduce article variety; propose and implement cost‑saving initiatives (e.g., VAVE projects) while maintaining internal quality standards.
  • Identify and execute potential process improvements to increase procurement efficiency.
  • Maintain master data (article and supplier master) according to internal guidelines; support supplier approval documentation (NDAs, questionnaires, self‑disclosures).
  • Support feasibility studies and capacity confirmations for purchased parts.
  • Negotiate deadlines and pricing for purchased parts within development projects, consulting the line manager when required.
  • Provide support to other procurement teams as needed, contributing to an efficient and collaborative global procurement process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in an economic field, ideally with a focus on Procurement.

  • Experience in purchasing and/or project management; basic technical understanding is a plus.

  • Proficiency in SAP and solid MS Office skills.

  • Very good English skills (C1).

  • Strong knowledge of project purchasing processes.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

  • Team‑oriented, yet able to work independently.

  • Proactive problem-solving and early issue identification.

  • Assertiveness and ability to drive initiatives effectively.
