We are looking for a Color Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) who is enthusiastic about color development work at Apple.

Description

We are looking for an expert like you to work with the Apple Industrial Design (ID) team, Program Managers, and Operations teams to ensure the high aesthetic standards of Apple products.

Minimum Qualifications

BS/MS in quality engineering or related engineering fields (chemical, optical, materials science, mechanical, or equivalent engineering).
Demonstrated high color acuity and the ability to pass the Munsell Hue Color Test is a must.
5+ years of experience in the development of finishing processes for mechanical components or consumer electronic devices.
Knowledge of quality management system structures, quality procedures, and the application of typical quality tools in quality management practice (e.g., MSA, FA/CA, SPC, Yield Analysis, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to plan, execute, and present results from investigations using statistical analysis, and clearly communicate results and recommendations.
Proven understanding of problem-solving tools including root cause analysis, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical process control principles.
Knowledge of surface appearance measuring metrologies (color, gloss, texture, etc.).
Knowledge of typical surface finish processes or technologies (i.e., blasting, anodizing, PVD, painting, coating, etc.).
Solid understanding of mechanical properties of materials as they relate to manufacturing requirements and process drivers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
Capable of managing ambiguity and working autonomously.
Colorimetry/color science relevant experience is a plus.
