Our Materials Engineering Product Design team is dedicated to creating and optimizing these materials, enabling innovative designs across all product lines.
Description
As a Color Resin Materials Engineer, you will drive the development of new color resin materials and processes to meet strict structural and aesthetic requirements. Serving as our in-region technical expert in Greater China, you will accelerate development cycles, partner deeply with material suppliers and contract manufacturers, and guide projects from R&D all the way to mass production. We are looking for a hands-on, highly practical engineer with a "big picture" perspective who can make a direct impact on products loved by millions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Coatings Science, or Mechanical Engineering, combined with 3-5 years of consumer electronics experience.
Experience visually evaluating high-quality cosmetic parts and finishes in a high-volume, multi-color, and multi-material manufacturing environment.
Solid color recognition skills, with the ability to accurately differentiate subtle color variations.
Proficiency in statistical quality/process control and root cause analysis for color, material, and finish issues.
Fluent in Mandarin and English, with excellent cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across global time zones and travel significantly (domestically in China and internationally to the US).
Preferred Qualifications
Technical knowledge of pigments, dyes, resins, and polymers, along with a strong foundation in color science.
Hands-on experience with color measurement (spectrophotometry), reliability testing (e.g., UV/solar degradation, chemical resistance, mechanical testing), and advanced polymer characterization (DSC, TGA, FTIR, GCMS, etc.).
Highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and solution-driven, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and vendor relationships concurrently.
Familiarity with AI-assisted design and analysis workflows.
