About the Role

Do you love the Mac, and want to help define the future of Mac app development?

Lead the SwiftUI Mac team and join the evolution of SwiftUI and app development across all of Apple's platforms. You'll collaborate with passionate and creative colleagues to meet ambitious goals in an environment that not only encourages, but requires constant curiosity and growth. The work we do empowers developers and shapes their experience for decades to come.

As engineering manager of the SwiftUI Mac team, you will join us in developing future SwiftUI features and APIs that impact all of Apple's platforms. You will foster the growth, productivity, and well-being of your team - some more experienced and some less experienced than you - through the highs and lows of the creative process. You will be responsible for project planning, inter-team coordination, and delivery of your team's features. You'll take an active role in hiring to help grow a world-class and diverse team. To be effective you'll need to build and maintain strong relationships with our numerous partner teams, and closely collaborate with sibling Mac UI Framework teams.

Our team is a core contributor to the SwiftUI framework, building features to express the power and flexibility of macOS. The team works closely with sibling Mac UI Framework teams as well as broader UI framework teams across iOS, i PadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with other cross-functional teams across Apple: including developer tools, interface designers, technical writers, and clients of SwiftUI. Curious and collaborative individuals who take an expansive view of their role will thrive in this multi-disciplinary environment.

Our goal is to dramatically improve the app ecosystem across all of Apple's platforms - whether enabling beginners to bring an idea to life, iOS app developers to write their first macOS app, or empowering seasoned pros to focus on what's important. Because we have the privilege of collaborating closely with Swift, Xcode, Human Interface design, and framework teams up and down the software stack, we believe SwiftUI can be the best app development experience in the world. If you're interested in helping define this future and pushing the state of the art forward, we'd love to hear from you!
